  1. Online Regional Finals Format — Rules & Structure

  1. Overview

The Online Regional Finals Stage serves as the decisive league phase of the National College Cup. All teams that successfully qualify from the Online/Offline Qualifier will enter this stage. The primary objective of this phase is to ensure every team competes against every other qualified team at least once, guaranteeing a balanced and transparent competitive system.

A total of 4 teams will participate in this stage. Performance in these matches determines final league standings and qualification for the Top 4 teams advancing to the National College Cup Grand LAN Finals.

  1. Match Format
  • All matches during the Round Robin Stage will be conducted in a Best-of-3 (BO3)

format.

  • Match schedules, timings, and lobby arrangements will be communicated in advance by NoScope Gaming.
  • All teams must adhere strictly to the assigned schedules and verification protocols as outlined in the Match Operations section of the rulebook.
  1. Points Allocation System

In the Round Robin Stage, teams accumulate points based on the outcome of each BO3 series. Points are awarded as follows:

  1. 2–0 Victory
  • Winning Team: 3 Points
  • Losing Team: 0 Points
  1. 2–1 Victory
  • Winning Team: 2 Points
  • Losing Team: 1 Point
  1. 0–2 Loss
  • Losing Team: 0 Points

This system rewards dominant victories while still recognizing competitive close matches.

  1. League Standings & Ranking Criteria

At the conclusion of all Round Robin matches, teams will be ranked based on:

1. Total Points Earned Across All Matches

If two or more teams hold the same number of points, rankings will be determined using official tie-breaker rules. These tie-breakers ensure accurate placement in cases impacting qualification, seeding, or tournament progression.

  1. Tie-Breaker Rules (Critical for Top 4 Qualification)

Tie-breakers are applied only when teams are tied on total points and the tie affects advancement, elimination, or official league placement.

  1. Two-Team Tie (Direct Tie Between Two Teams)

If exactly two teams finish with identical points and the tie directly influences:

  • Qualification into the Top 4,
  • Seeding for the LAN Finals, or
  • Any official placement requiring resolution,

then the following rule applies,

A Best-of-5 (BO5) Tie-Breaker Match Will Be Played.

  • The BO5 will determine the final ranking between the two tied teams.
  • All BO5 match rules (side selection, pauses, conduct, etc.) apply as standard.
  • The winner of the BO5 earns the higher placement.

This method ensures that final qualifications are decided by direct competitive performance rather than statistical methods.

  1. Advancement to the Grand LAN Finals

At the end of the Round Robin Stage:

  • The Top 4 teams on the final leaderboard will qualify for the National College Cup LAN Finals.
  • These teams will compete offline for the championship title, prize pool, and recognition as NCC champions.

Any disputes relating to points, results, or tiebreakers will be resolved by the tournament administration in accordance with this rulebook.

  1. Team Conduct

  1. Media Shoot Requirements

Throughout the season, NoScope Gaming may require teams and players to participate in official media and promotional activities related to the National College Cup. These activities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Player and team profile photoshoots
  • Video shoots and promotional clips
  • Intro/outro recordings for broadcast
  • Sponsor-related media assets
6.3..2 Cooperation & Deadlines

Teams and players are expected to fully cooperate with the organizers and complete all assigned media activities within the designated timelines provided by NoScope Gaming. Participants must adhere to scheduling, attire, and conduct guidelines communicated prior to the shoot.

6.3.3 Conduct During Media Activities

All participants are expected to maintain professional behavior during photoshoots, recordings, and other media sessions. Misconduct — including tardiness,

non-cooperation, refusal to participate, or inappropriate behavior — may result in disciplinary action or tournament penalties at the discretion of the administration.

6.3.4 Ownership of Media Content

All photos, videos, and promotional materials created during these sessions will remain the exclusive property of NoScope Gaming. These may be used for marketing, promotion, or broadcast purposes across social media, websites, and affiliated platforms.

  1. Indirect Violations

Teams and players are strictly prohibited from inducing, encouraging, assisting, or coercing any individual or entity—directly or indirectly—to violate the rules, regulations, or code of conduct of National College Cup or NoScope Gaming.

This includes but is not limited to:

  • Encouraging or assisting another player or team to exploit game bugs or unfair advantages.
  • Pressuring another team or individual to forfeit, delay, or alter the outcome of a match.
  • Sharing restricted information or strategies to influence the competition unfairly.
  • Using third parties ( such as fans, sponsors, or associates) to engage in actions that breach tournament integrity.

Any act found to violate this clause, whether directly or indirectly, will result in severe disciplinary action, including potential disqualification, forfeiture of prizes, or suspension from future NoScope Gaming events.

  1. Disciplinary Action & Penalties

  1. Subjection to Penalty

Any player, team member, or individual found to have engaged in, or attempted to engage in, any act that NoScope Gaming determines—at its sole and absolute discretion—to constitute unfair play will be subject to penalties.

The type, severity, and duration of penalties imposed will be decided entirely by

NoScope Gaming, based on the nature of the violation.

  1. Penalties

If any Team Member is found to have violated any rule of the National College Cup Rulebook, the NoScope Gaming Operating Committee may impose penalties at its sole discretion. Penalties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Verbal or written warnings
  • Loss of side selection for current or upcoming games
  • Fines or prize deductions (where applicable)
  • Loss of a game
  • Temporary suspension
  • Disqualification from the tournament

Repeated violations may result in increasingly severe penalties, up to and including removal from the remainder of the National College Cup or restriction from future WardrumGames events.

Penalties may be applied immediately and do not need to follow a step-by-step escalation. If the violation is considered severe, a player or team may be disqualified even on the first offense.

All penalty durations apply only to the period in which the National College Cup is active.

  1. Penalties for Policy Breach

If NoScope Gaming determines that a Team or Team Member has violated any section of the Official Rules or Code of Conduct, the administration has full authority to apply penalties as deemed appropriate.

  1. Player / Team Behavior Investigation

If the Operating Committee initiates an investigation into potential misconduct, both the Team and Team Members are required to cooperate fully and truthfully.

Providing false information, withholding details, or attempting to obstruct the investigation will result in additional penalties, which may include suspension or disqualification.

  1. Right to Publish

NoScope Gaming reserves the right to publicly release any announcement regarding penalties issued to a Team or Team Member participating in National College Cup. By taking part in the event, all Teams and Team Members agree to waive any right to pursue legal action against NoScope Gaming, National College Cup, or any of their parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, employees, agents, or contractors in relation to such public statements.

  1. Gameplay Rules

All events in National College Cup will follow the gameplay rules outlined below. These rules may be updated or refined by NoScope Gaming as the event dates approach.

  1. Definition of Terms

Unintentional Disconnection:

A player losing connection due to issues with the game client, device, network, or other technical problems.

Intentional Disconnection:

If a player disconnects due to their own actions (e.g., quitting the game). Any action by a player that results in a disconnection will be considered intentional, regardless of intent.

Server Crash:

All players disconnecting from the match due to issues with the game server, match server, or unstable venue internet.

Bug:

Any issue that causes incorrect or abnormal gameplay results, malfunctions, or faults in game data, hardware, or software.

  1. Game of Record (GOR)

A Game of Record (GOR) is established once all ten players have loaded into the match and meaningful interaction occurs between opposing teams. Once GOR is reached, restarts are only allowed under specific conditions.

Examples of conditions that establish GOR include:
  • Any attack or ability hits minions, jungle creeps, structures, or enemy heroes.
  • Line-of-sight (vision) is established between opposing players.
  • A player crosses the river or otherwise enters contested space.
  • The in-game timer reaches 00:20.

Once GOR is confirmed, the game is considered official.

  1. Stoppage of Play

If a player intentionally disconnects without notifying a National College Cup official or pausing, officials are not required to stop the match.

During any pause, players must remain in the match area unless permitted by an official.

Directed Pause:

A National College Cup official may pause or command a pause at any time at their sole discretion.

Communication During Pauses: They are only allowed to speak with the officials to report or resolve issues. In prolonged pauses, officials may allow limited discussion related to gameplay, if necessary.

  1. Resuming the Game

Players are not allowed to unpause the game themselves. The match will resume only when:

  1. A National College Cup official authorizes the continuation.
  1. All players are ready at their stations.
  1. Both team captains confirm readiness in in-game chat.

Once confirmed, the in-client spectator (referee) will resume the match.

  1. Remaking the Game

All decisions regarding game remakes are at the sole discretion of National College Cup officials.

Remakes Before GOR

Examples include:

  • A player’s emblems, battle spells, or GUI settings load incorrectly due to a technical bug and cannot be fixed in-game.
  • Technical issues prevent the match from progressing normally (e.g., players cannot reach lanes before minion spawn due to delays).
Remakes After GOR

Examples include:

  • A critical bug affecting gameplay stats or mechanics.
  1. Remake Protocol

A remake may occur if the match experiences a critical and verifiable bug or if the environment becomes unplayable.

A bug is considered critical if:
  • It severely affects a player’s ability to compete.
  • Officials determine it fundamentally disrupts fair play.
A bug is considered verifiable if:
  • It can be confirmed through replay or spectator review.
  • It is not attributable to player error.
Player Reporting Procedure:
  • Players must immediately pause and report the issue to an official.
  • Delaying a report in hopes of a favorable restart will invalidate the remake request.

If officials confirm the bug is both critical and verifiable, the affected team will be offered a restart.

  1. Controlled Environment Rules

  • If a restart occurs before GOR, certain settings may be retained (such as picks/bans or spells).
  • If a restart occurs after GOR, no settings from the previous match will be retained.
  • If a hero is picked or banned due to a verified bug, the game will be restarted.
  • If the bug is fully resolved, previously selected heroes may be kept.
  • If the bug is persistent or unavoidable, bans/picks will not carry over.
Hero or Skin Bug Rule:

If a bug is linked to a specific hero or skin, that hero/skin will be banned for the remainder of the day or longer, unless the issue can be removed entirely (e.g., skin-specific bug).

  1. Player Confirmation of Settings

Before GOR is established, [team captains must confirm that all players have applied their intended settings (emblems, controls, spell selection, GUI, etc.)] (LAN event rule).

Errors in verification do not justify a restart once GOR is reached.

  1. Postponement

If technical issues force a restart, National College Cup officials may, at their sole discretion, call for a rematch or postpone the game to a later time.

  1. Post-Game Process

Results:

National College Cup officials will verify and officially record the game results.

Technical Notes:

Players must report any technical issues or equipment concerns to the officials immediately after the game. (LAN rule)

Break Time:

Officials will inform teams of the remaining time before the next pick/ban phase.

Forfeiture Results:

If a team forfeits, the match will be recorded with the minimum required score:

  • 1–0 for BO1
  • 2–0 for BO3
  • 3–0 for BO5
  • 4-0 for BO7

No additional stats will be recorded for forfeited matches.

  1. Post-Match Process

Match Results:

Officials will confirm and record the full match results after the series concludes.

Next Match Information:

Teams will be informed of their updated standings and their upcoming scheduled match.

Post-Match Obligations:

Players may be required to participate in activities such as interviews, media sessions, or official discussions related to the match.

  1. Nature of the Rules

  1. Finality of Decisions

All decisions regarding the interpretation of these rules, player eligibility, scheduling, match procedures, and disciplinary actions for the National College Cup are made solely by the National College Cup Administration.

All decisions are final and binding, and cannot be appealed. No decision by the administration shall give rise to any monetary claim, compensation, or legal remedy of any kind.

  1. Rule Changes

The National College Cup Administration may amend, update, or supplement these rules at any time if it believes doing so is necessary to maintain competitive integrity, resolve unforeseen issues, or ensure fair play for all participants.

Any such changes take effect immediately unless otherwise stated.

  1. Best Interests of the Tournament

NoScope Gaming and National College Cup officials retain full authority to act in whatever manner they deem necessary to safeguard the integrity, fairness, and reputation of the tournament.

This authority extends beyond what is explicitly written in the rulebook. Officials may issue any form of disciplinary action—whether or not specifically mentioned—if a team or player behaves in a way that conflicts with the best interests of the National College Cup.

Automatic Agreement Clause

By joining, registering, or playing in the tournament, all participants automatically agree to the full Rulebook, Terms, and Conditions of the National College Cup. This agreement is valid regardless of whether the participant has signed any physical or digital document.
